Obituary

Emily Jane Foreman Elam was born on January 11, 1958 at St. Patrick's Hospital in Lake Charles, LA. She died on October 2, 2026, at the age of 68 surrounded by her loving family.

Her living relatives are her husband of 43 years, Billy Elam, her daughter, Laura Elam Womack of Orangefield, TX and her husband Victor Womack, her sister, Patricia Foreman Wesevich and husband James Wesevich. Her nieces and nephews Caleb Bales, Brenna Bales, Laura Reeder Womble and James Reeder as well as many cousins and loving friends.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Irma West Foreman, her father, Carol Foreman and her brother, Thomas Edward Foreman who was born on February 29, 1960 and lived 3 days.

Emily loved her family and her church family. She attended Eastgate United Pentecostal Church of Vidor, TX. She loved teaching Bible studies to whoever wanted to learn the Word of God.

She loved teaching high school Chemistry and Mathematics for over 20 years in Lumberton, Kountze, Warren and Beaumont, TX as well as teaching in Louisiana at Jennings High School and LaGrange High School. She graduated from LaGrange High School in 1976 and then went on to McNeese State University where she earned a Bachelor degree in Chemistry Education with a minor in Mathematics.

She loved growing flowers (especially roses) and having fruit trees in her yard. She especially loved springtime in Texas so she could look at the beautiful bluebonnets. She always loved Louisiana cooking especially crawfish, boudin and shrimp poboys. She loved going to her grandparent's home on Avery Island Road near New Iberia, LA which brought many fond memories throughout her life.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 8,2026, at LaBrie Claybar Funeral Home in Beaumont.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 9, 2026, at Eastgate Pentecostal Church in Vidor. Officiating will be Reverend Donald Bearce. Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m., at Old Hardin County Cemetery in Kountze.
