John Alton Guillot

John Guillot, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026, in Beaumont, Texas. He was born on July 12, 1951, in Rayne, Louisiana, to the late Ivy and Madola Guillot. John lived a full and joyful life, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Throughout his life, John found immense joy in his passions. He was known for his skillful hands, whether he was working on cars, tinkering around the house, or fixing things. He loved to spend time with his sons finding things to work on and fix together. A occasional fisherman, he loved the tranquility of the water. He loved to share this passion with his children and grandchildren. Above all, John treasured spending time with his family, creating countless precious moments that will be forever held dear.

John is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Lucy Guillot of Groves, who was the love of his life. He leaves behind his loving children: daughter, Teffini Guillot of Groves, son, AJ Guillot and his wife, Layla, of Groves, and son, Adam Guillot of Port Neches. He was a proud grandfather to Ginna Guillot and Bronson Guillot, who brought immense joy to his later years.

He is also survived by his brother, Mark Guillot and his wife, Mary, of Port Neches, and his sisters, Barbara Baker and her husband, Gary, of Boston, and Shantelle Guillot Trevino. John was preceded in death by his parents, Ivy and Madola Guillot, and his sister, Patricia Guillot Jenkins Delgado. His warm presence and kind spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

John will be remembered by family and friends at a visitation on Thursday, August 20, 2026, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, 5200 West Parkway, Groves, Texas. His life will be celebrated with a service at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home.
