Obituary

Kenneth Earl “Booger Red” Riley, 78, passed away on August 22, 2026, in Knoxville, TN. He was born on September 13, 1947, in Daisetta, TX to Pete Virgil Riley and Flora Dee Sweezy Riley.

Kenneth proudly served his country as a United States Marine during the Vietnam War. His service was a source of great pride throughout his life, and he carried that pride with him always.

Kenneth was a devoted outdoorsman whose love of the outdoors remained a meaningful part of his life. In his younger years, Kenneth enjoyed deer and squirrel hunting. Later in life, he found great joy in raising and training beagles to hunt rabbits, a passion he truly cherished.

Kenneth was an avid college football fan, especially the Texas Longhorns. Not only the football team but the women’s softball and basketball teams as well.

Kenneth was a loyal son, brother and friend.

After graduating from Hull-Daisetta High School in 1967, Kenneth enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps. After his service commitment, Kenneth was employed by J. M. Huber Corporation where he retired after 32 years of employment. He lived in Hardin, TX for many years before moving to Tennessee in December to live with his brother, Gary and sister-in-law Debbie.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Pete Virgil Riley; his mother, Flora Dee Sweezy Riley; his brother Virgil Wayne Riley; his sister, Edna Elaine Biskamp; brother-in-laws, Deward Biskamp and Jeff King.

Kenneth is survived by his sister, Linda King; his brother, Gary Riley and wife Debbie; his nephews, Sean Riley, Dusty Pruett and wife Amy and Daniel Pruett and his nieces Dr. Patti King, Sara Murray and husband Aaron and Haley Wilson and husband Michael. Kenneth also leaves behind great nephews, great nieces and great great nieces as well as many dear friends who will cherish his memory and miss him dearly.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Oak Dale Cemetery in Daisetta, Texas.

Honorary pallbearers are Sean Riley, Daniel Pruett, Dusty Pruett, Weldon McCreight, Charles Goode, Caiden Goode, Colt Sullivan, Zayne Pruett, and Wyatt Pruett.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
