Linda Ruiz Hutchby

1949 ∼ 2026

Linda Ruiz Hutchby

Linda Hutchby, a woman whose kindness touched countless lives and whose love for her family knew no bounds, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2026, in Port Arthur, Texas. Born on March 10, 1949, Linda’s warm spirit and compassionate heart were a beacon to all who knew her.

Linda found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid journal keeper, meticulously documenting her thoughts and experiences. Her evenings were often spent engrossed in a good mystery or crime show, a testament to her inquisitive nature. She also loved to listen to all genres of music. Linda was an excellent cook, always preparing delicious meals for her family. She appreciated good food and never turned down a meal. She would be on cloud nine if you ever cooked hamburgers and hotdogs for her. Her kindness extended to others, even strangers, and she loved all animals. She never met a stray she didn’t want to feed.

Linda's memory will be cherished by her loving family: her son, Dean Alan Hutchby, Jr. of Marksville, Louisiana; her daughter, Heather Nicole Alexander and her husband, Mark of Groves; and her beloved grandchildren, Tristen Eli Hutchby, Hunter Isaiah Hutchby, and Abigail Nicole Alexander. She is also survived by her brothers, Anthony Gallegos of Port Arthur, David Gallegos of Lumberton and Timothy Gallegos of Bridge City and her aunt, Lydia Kurtz of Port Arthur.

Linda was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 47 years, Dean Alan Hutchby, Sr.; her parents, Antonio and Juana Ruiz; her birth mother Alice Gallegos; her sisters, Annie Falcon and Dorothy Wooldridge; her aunts and uncles, Delores Miguez and William Ruiz, Sr. Her gentle spirit, loving heart, and unwavering kindness will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Family and friends will celebrate the life of Linda with a visitation on Sunday, October 11, 2026, 1:00pm - 2:00pm, followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 pm at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 5601 39th Street, Groves, Texas 77619.
