Mary "Louise" Louise Gresham

Mary “Louise” Gresham, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2026, in Livingston, Texas, at the age of 87. She was born on December 28, 1938.

Louise loved the Lord and her family with all her heart. She had a way of making people feel loved and welcome, and she truly never met a stranger. Her family meant everything to her. She made it a point to call her children every morning, usually with a fresh cup of Folgers in her cup, and she loved sitting and talking with them on the phone. She never missed calling everyone on their birthday. She was especially proud of her new great-grandbaby and looked forward to getting pictures every day.

Louise enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved her coffee at 5 AM and again at 3 PM, listening to Christian and countrywide music, especially Hank Williams, and watching her favorite Western movies. She was a big sports fan and proudly cheered on her Dallas Cowboys, Houston Astros, and Houston Dynamo. She also loved shopping, wearing her sunglasses, and spending time with her beloved dog, Little Miss Dallas, who was a very special part of her life. She also had a special place in her heart for her grand dogs, Kirby, Daisy, and Theo, who brought her so much joy and were a cherished part of the family.

Louise leaves behind her loving children, Terry Eugene Gresham and his wife, Terrie Sue; William “Bill” Edwin Gresham and his wife, Betty; James Melvin Brown and his wife, Lynn; and Kimberly Louise Cade and her husband, David.

Louise and Max Gresham shared more than 60 years of marriage together. They built a life, raised their family, and shared many years of memories together. Through all those years, their family remained the most important part of their lives. The love they shared and the life they built together will always be a part of their family’s story.

She was a proud grandmother to Gidget Sweeten and her husband, Brian; William Gresham and his wife, Brooke; James Gresham; Melissa Brown; Randy Brown; Katelyn Gazouleas and her husband, Michael; Misty Brown and her husband, Ricky; Melinda Cook and her husband, Richard; and Tiffany Slankard and her husband, Jason.

Louise was blessed with many beloved great-grandchildren: Cody Brown, Carson Brown, Emily Brown, Lacey Brown, Terrie Cook, Thaine Cook, Camden Cook, Billy “Buzz” Smith Jr., Paige Dyess, Alexis Jackson, Cassie Cates, Maddie Brown, Blake Gresham, Molly Todd, Bryce Gresham, Zachary Sweeten, Brennan Gresham, Arron Gresham, Tucker Gresham, Preston Gresham, Marissa Thomas, Harper Gresham, Cadence Slankard, Aisley Slankard, Jase Slankard, and Vincent Gazouleas,

She was also blessed with 15 great-great-grandbabies, who brought even more love and joy to her family.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Max Earl Gresham; her parents, James Hulan Pittman and Gertie Mae Birdwell Pittman; her sister, Emma Jean Lockhart; her brothers, Kenneth Pittman, Marlin Pittman, and Oris Ray Pittman; and her grandchild, Austin Bond.

Louise will be remembered for her strong faith, big heart, sense of joy, and the love she gave so freely to her family and everyone around her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

A Memorial Service celebrating Louise’s life will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Grace Church in Liberty, Texas.

Cremation arrangements are being handled under the direction of Faith & Family Funeral Services in Batson, Texas.
