Melinda Jo Wylie

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Melinda Wylie, who entered into eternal rest on August 01, 2026. She was born on September 18, 1963 in Port Lavaca, Texas.

Melinda lived a life filled with creativity, laughter, and love for the people who meant the most to her. Above all else, she treasured her family, especially her precious grandchildren, who lovingly called her "Nani." They were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent making memories with them.

A free spirit with a kind and joyful heart, Melinda found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She had a passion for art and crafting, always creating something beautiful with her hands. She loved dressing up in fun costumes, tending to her garden, listening to karaoke, and enjoying a good game of bingo. Whether she was fishing, searching for hidden treasures at thrift stores, flea markets, and garage sales, Melinda embraced every adventure with enthusiasm and a smile.

Those left to cherish her memory include her devoted husband, James Wylie; her beloved daughter, Casey Day, and husband, Jonathan Day; her brother, David Hatfield, and wife, Stacey; Elizabeth and Travis Anderson; and her treasured grandchildren, Hayden, Bryson, Emma, and Jacey, who will forever carry her love in their hearts and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Melinda was preceded in death by her father, Guy Hatfield, her mother, Bennie Jo Majors, her son, Kevin Wylie and her brothers, Guy Eldon Hatfield and James Kevin Hatfield.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, between 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Faith and Family Funeral Services. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on August 6, 2026, at Faith and Family Funeral Services in Batson with Pastor David Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Grove Cemetery.

Honoring Melinda as pallbearers are Jimmy Keller, Travis Anderson, John Hatfield, David Hatfield, Tommy Wylie, and Jonathan Day.

Melinda will be remembered for her generous heart, creative spirit, playful personality, and the love she so freely shared with her family and friends. Though her presence will be deeply missed, the memories she created, the laughter she inspired, and the love she gave will remain a lasting gift to all who were blessed to know her.
